MŪ16181 Shelving
Information

Supported by a recessed steel structure, the MŪ1681’s slim, L-shaped shelves appear to gently levitate. Adjustable stainless-steel glides affixed beneath the vertical structure further emphasise this impression of weightlessness.

Assembled with machine screws, the shelving system pairs engineered precision with a refinement of form that renders its solid construction seemingly insubstantial.

Important

Due to the low positioning and sharp, unrounded edges of the shelves, we advise against placing this product in children’s rooms or in areas where young children have unrestricted access.

The dimensions and finishes shown on our website reflect the designer’s original intent. Please contact us via email to discuss customisation options for the shelving system.

The MŪ16181 is designed for indoor use only.

Care & Maintenance

For regular maintenance, wipe all surfaces with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Painted or powder-coated elements can be cleaned with a clean cloth lightly dampened with water, and should always be dried thoroughly afterwards. Stainless steel components may be wiped with warm, soapy water or a stainless-steel–specific cleaner, followed by buffing with a dry microfiber cloth.

Avoid abrasive materials such as steel wool, as well as bleach, chlorine- or acid-based cleaners. Do not spray or pour cleaning products directly onto any surface. Damage caused by harsh cleaning agents, abrasives, or improper care is not covered by warranty.

Please note that damage caused by harsh cleaning products, abrasives, or improper treatment is not covered by warranty.

Manufacturing

The MŪ16181 shelving system pushes the boundaries of laser-cutting, waterjet-cutting, and machine-bending tolerances. Its structural components are meticulously sized to achieve visual lightness, yet once assembled, they collectively provide robust support for a fully stacked bookshelf.

Laser-cutting and waterjet-cutting processes are applied to various parts of the shelving, depending on the length and complexity of the profile. Once assembled, the loosely fitted L-shaped shelves securely lock into place without any mechanical fixing, ensuring the stability of the free-standing bookshelf structure. The shelving is then finished with a ferrograin coating.

Custom-designed stainless-steel glides elevate the structure from the floor, adding a touch of elegance to the design.
