The MŪ162 bench features a triangular motif differently expressed across its timber construction. Where this geometry gives the seat a refined lightness of form, the same faceted shape lends the legs a solid, grounded presence. These taper downwards to a narrow foot – a distinctive detail that recurs across our more recent designs.
Made from solid oak or iroko, the bench can be finished for outdoor use.
The MŪ162 bench is crafted from prime oak or iroko. Oak pieces can be finished in a natural or blackened version, allowing the natural grain to remain visible while achieving a darker tone if desired.
Iroko is treated with a natural, non-pigmented wax oil suitable for outdoor use. When exposed to the elements, iroko will gradually develop a patina, with its warm honey colour softening into a light grey over time.

For everyday maintenance, dust the bench with a soft, dry cloth. For marks or spills, use a cloth lightly dampened with mild soapy water, then dry immediately. Avoid liquids (such as wine and vinegar) or cleaning products directly on the surface.
All outdoor furniture will naturally develop a patina over time. This ageing process is intentional and contributes to the character of the design. When left outdoors, solid timber may experience surface cracking, colour variation, and slight warping — these are all natural characteristics of wood exposed to the elements. Our outdoor furniture is designed to accommodate these changes, which do not compromise the structural integrity of the pieces.
We recommend applying outdoor furniture oil on a regular basis. In harsher climates, this can be done as often as once a month; under normal conditions, every three months is sufficient. Apply a light coat with a cloth or brush, then wipe off any excess oil.
Do not use steel wool, abrasive pads, or harsh chemicals. Minor scratches and dents can often be repaired — contact us before attempting fixes.
Damage caused by abrasives, harsh cleaning products, sharp objects, pets, or improper repairs is not covered under warranty.
The MŪ162 bench is manufactured from solid sections of oak or iroko, carefully fitted and joined along faceted planes. These solid elements form the sculptural feet of the bench, while the same triangular geometry is extended to the seat, creating an optical illusion of a thin, floating surface despite its substantial construction.
Once assembled, the timber is treated for outdoor use, allowing the bench to perform reliably in exterior conditions while developing character over time.
