The MŪ61 Chair

The MŪ61 began as an exploration of proportion and contrasts.

Initial sketches and technical drawings, then with an early working title for the piece, explored the relationship between the chair's generous upholstered form and its precise structural framework.

Through multiple prototypes, dimensions and angles, junctions were refined to achieve comfort and visual balance.

Every connection, edge, and surface was developed to express clarity, durability, and meticulous craftsmanship.

The intention behind the MŪ61 was to capture a sense of familiar comfort, echoing the ease and warmth of Børge Mogensen’s Spanish Chair, while expressing it in a more sculptural language. Here, that softness is reinterpreted through an architectural frame and carefully modulated volumes.
